Fahan Sky McDonagh was raised in Melbourne Beach, Florida. As a child, she spent most of her free time outside exploring the landscape. Experiences and observations found in nature inform her sculpture. Fahan uses glass and found objects to create a visual narrative about the value and sustainability of the wild environment.
McDonagh received an MFA in Glass Sculpture from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York in 2013. She has attended residencies and symposiums at North Lands Creative Glass in Scotlantd and Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State. Works from her thesis exhibition,”Satori,” were selected for publication in the Corning Museum of Glass’ New Glass Review 35 as well as Art Glass Today 2. She is currently the studio director at TD Glass in St. Petersburg, Fl.
